Peaks of Colour Walkshops
Over the past four years we have been humbly developing our Peaks of Colour Walkshop Series’. We curate creative and holistic spaces, where we explore alternative routes to healing and justice for those with lived experience of racial and gendered trauma.
We apply a seasonal and collaborative approach to curating these walkshops, bringing together facilitators of colour to share their land-based practices.
The walkshops are unique in that they merge Black Feminist and abolitionist political theory with embodied connection, community care and nature-allied practices. This depth and intricacy allows us to forge our own way of relating to our bodies, our communities and our local landscapes.
Every walkshop is an experiment and we play with how to turn our back on the capitalist, consumerist and colonialist ways that white-led environmentalism tells us we should interact with nature. Instead, we are redefining this relationship as one that is intuitive, intentional and indigenous.
